About Us Yeong & Yeong Book Company is an independent publisher specializing in books on the topic of Asian adoption, founded in 1993 by an adoptive father who felt his Korean-born daughters needed a book about their lives in Korea before coming to their new family. The resulting book, When You Were Born in Korea, was successful enough to inspire a similar title for Chinese adoptive families, When You Were Born in China. Both books were published as fund-raisers for worthy adoption causes, and a portion of their proceeds continues to support adoption agencies in Korea and China. More books followed, and each generates royalties for related causes. Among the beneficiaries are Ae Ran Won, a home for birth mothers in Seoul, South Korea; Holt International; Children's Home Society of Minnesota; The Amity Foundation; The Catalyst Foundation; The Foundation for Chinese Orphanages; Eastern Social Welfare Society; and others. Yeong & Yeong is also the distributor in the United States and Canada for the publications of The Korea Foundation, an organization in Seoul dedicated to promoting the arts and culture of Korea.
